Changelog

1.0.0

The first release of CopyHop for Mac, iPhone and iPad.

Mac

  • Click the menu bar icon or press ⌘⇧V to open your History. Pick a Clip and press Return to paste it into the app you were using.
  • Every Clip lands in one of six Categories as you copy it: Text, Code, Link, File, Media or Colour.
  • Code is recognised in 76 languages and highlighted in your choice of six themes.
  • Colours are recognised in 25 formats, from hex and RGB to Oklch and SwiftUI, and you can copy a colour back out in any of them.
  • Links lose their tracking parameters (utm_, fbclid, gclid and others) and show the page's title and image.
  • Files, whole folders, screenshots and images are kept as well.
  • Search forgives typos, so "invoce" still finds your invoices.
  • Switch between a list and a grid. Hold Option to see a Clip in full.
  • Pin the Clips you reuse. Pins stay at the top and are never removed to make room.
  • Keep anywhere from 20 to 300 Clips in History.
  • CopyHop ignores password managers out of the box. You can add other apps and websites to the Exclusions too.
  • CopyHop checks for new versions and installs them when you say yes.

iPhone and iPad

  • Browse History and the six Categories. On iPad the layout uses the extra room.
  • Whatever is on your clipboard is saved when you open the app. You can also send text, links, photos and files to CopyHop from the share sheet.
  • The CopyHop keyboard pastes any Clip into any app. It needs Full Access to read your History, and it never records or sends what you type.
  • Shortcuts can copy your latest Clip, pick a Clip, save the clipboard or search your History, and you can put any of them on the Action button.

Sync

  • Clips move between your devices through your own iCloud, and straight across your Wi-Fi when the devices are on the same network. CopyHop runs no servers.
  • A Clip bigger than the Sync Size Cap (25 MB unless you change it, up to 200 MB) stays on the device you copied it on, marked Local only.
  • You can turn Sync off for any Category.
  • On the Mac, Sync is part of Pro: a $4.99 Licence you buy once, good on 3 Macs, with a 14-day Trial. The iPhone and iPad app is free, and so is Sync between iPhones and iPads.
